The UK IT Division of a well known Asset Management House.  Its challenge was to  rationalise multiple processing system and improve transaction speed and quality.  It’s internal Software Development & Applications group were developing and maintaining all business applications utilising client server and data warehouse technology but failing to deliver change at the pace and with the level of result expected by the Board.

Scope

• Managed the external supplier to replaced a costly ICL mainframe system, enabling threefold increase capacity.
• Instituted Straight Through Processing (STP) giving 70% daily increase in electronic trades.
• Significant reduced costs having cut the headcount in transaction processing by over 30%
• The client gained a prestigious award for deployment of STP technology in UK Equities
• Improved the efficiency and accuracy of handling cash by building a new and innovative Investment & Cash ledger
• Implemented automated reconciliation.
